Named By Adnyamathanha Dual name Mount McKinlay / Wayanha
Name as recorded by Dorothy Tunbridge,linguist. This name refers to the western side of Mount McKinlay,the eastern side has a different name as there is no pass through and people had to go around to get to the camps on the other side. Dual name applied to whole of the feature at the request of the Vulkathunha - Gammon Ranges National Park Co-Management Board on behalf of the Adnyamathanha people in 2010.
